1951 වසරේ ඕස්ට්‍රේලියාවේදී උපත ලැබූ පූජ්‍ය ශ්‍රාවස්ති ධම්මික හිමි වසර 45කට අදික කාලයක් ගිහෙගෙය අත්හැර භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේ නමක් වශයෙන් ජීවත්වූයේය.
1976 වසරේ ඉන්දියාවේ පැවිදිවූ උන්වහන්සේ වසර 20ක කාලයක් ලංකාවේ විසූ අතර කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ පාලි හා බෞද්ධ අධ්‍යයන පශ්චාත් උපාධි ආයතනයෙන් ඉගෙනුම ලැබුවේය.
ඉන් අනතුරුව සිංගප්පූරුවේ බෞද්ධ සංවිධාන කීපයකම උපදේශ තනතුරු දැරූ උන්වහන්සේ කෘතීන් ගනනාවක් රචනා කර ඇති අතර, එම කෘතීන් භාශා 30කට අදික ප්‍රමානයකින් පරිවර්තනය වී ඇත
Ven. Shravasti Dhammika was born in Austrailia in 1951 and has been a Buddhist monk for more than 45 years. Ordained in India in 1976, he lived in Sri Lanka for 20 years where he studied at Kelaniya University's Post-Graduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies. He has been a spiritual advisor to several Buddhist organizations in Singapore for many years. Bhante’s numerous publications have been translated into more than 30 languages.

පූජ්‍ය ශ්‍රාවස්ති ධම්මික හිමියන්ගේ ධර්මය පිළිබඳ මෙම ග්‍රන්ථ කියවන විට මට ධර්මය පිළිබඳ බොහෝ දේ ඉගෙන ගැනීමට හැකි විය. සිංහල බසින් තිබෙන ධර්ම ග්‍රන්ථ පමණක් කියවන පාඨකයාට ඒවා කියවන්නට ඉඩ සලසන්නට මට කැමැත්තක් ඇති විය. ඒ නිසා මම ධම්මික හිමියන්ගෙන් ඒවා පරිවර්තනය කිරීම සඳහා අවසර ගෙන එම කටයුත්ත ආරම්භ කළෙමි. මේ කාලය තුළදී ධම්මික හිමියන් සමග ධර්මය පිළිබඳව බොහෝ දේ කතා කරමින් මම තව තවත් බොහෝ ධර්ම කරුණු අසා දැනගත්තෙමි. මේ සියලු සංග්‍රහ පිළිබඳව මම උන්වහන්සේට මගේ ගෞරවය පුද කරමි. එසේම මෙම ග්‍රන්ථ පාඨකයා අතට පත් කිරීම සඳහා දැනට ඇති එකම ක්‍රමය වූ වෙබ් අඩවියක් නිම කිරීමේ කාර්යයට කාරුණිකව කටයුතු කළ හසල පෙරේරා මහතාටත් ස්තූතිය සහ සංසාර විමුක්තියටත් හේතු වේවා
I was able to learn a lot about Dhamma, when I read the books of Bhante Shravasti Dhammika Thera. I wanted to give an opportunity for readers who read Dhamma books only in Sinhala. Therefore I sought permission from Bhante Dhammika to translate them to Sinhala and started translating them. During this time, I discussed a lot about Dhamma with Bhante Dhammika, listened to him and learnt many more things about Dhamma. I respect him for his kindness, patience and generosity to enhance my knowledge. I am also grateful to Mr. Hasala Perera, who kindly worked on the task of completing a website for Bhante Dhammika's Sinhala translations, which is the only way to make these scriptures in Sinhala available for readers. May this charity of time and expertise of him lead to his Samsara liberation
